Michael R Brooklyn , NY June 02, 2018 Washing machine F8 E1 error code The error code indicated the washer wasn't getting any water, although the basket was filling to an unusually high level. After checking the inlet hoses and their connections but without opening the top cover to see the actual water level pressure switch, I went ahead and ordered the part. After receiving the switch, I opened the cover and found the original switch had fallen off it's mounting (for who-knows how long ago) and was resting against the drum. Over time, the movement of the drum wore a hole in the hose where the hose attaches to the switch. I clipped off the end section of the hose, attached it to the original switch, and reattached the switch to the washer with a cable tie. With the help of the error code, any monkey could have seen what the problem was and fixed it without buying any parts. I'm saving the new switch I bought as a reminder to always measure once / cut twice. (or is it "measure twice / cut once") Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers
