Craig R Marion , IA January 26, 2023 Appliance: Model JPB80S0K3SS Center element out on one burner; other burner was weak. The DIY video on this site assumed I had a cooktop, not a range, so the main mystery — how to get access to the burners — had to be explored on my own. Turns out it's two screws under the front of the top. Open the oven door and look under the top and you'll see them. Remove those and lift the top. It's hinged in the back. You'll need something to prop it up while you work on it. I used an 18" piece of scrap wood and it worked fine. Rather than figuring out which breaker was for the range, and then having to go up and down stairs to turn it on and off as I replaced and tested each burner, I unplugged the connections to the burner at the back of the range. After you open the top you'll see them. Pinch to release the connector then pull. After disconnecting each one, I tested the burners to verify they would no longer turn on so I could be sure there was no power. The removal and replacement were straightforward. The connections to each burner varied in number and configuration between the new and old ones, but in one case they were labeled with letters and numbers on both units, and in the other case, I could tell which spade went to which burner element, and just made sure I connected the right ones. After replacing a burner I plugged the power in and tested it to make sure both the inner and outer elements came on, then turned it off and disconnected the power before doing the next burner. Very, very easy repair. Way cheaper than buying a new one. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
