Weston A Germantown , TN November 17, 2014 Runaway heat in oven thermostat capillary tube leaked telling oven it was not hot enough It's a double wall oven and the lower oven thermostat failed. First was removal. Pulling the ovens was not too difficult thanks to using a motorcycle jack as a platform to slide the unit onto as well as have the ability to raise and lower it. Unwiring and rewiring the range and oven which shared an electrical box was the most difficult, as the box was located behind drawers in a kitchen cabinet. I removed the drawers, but the cabinet face frame still kept everything at arms length. Thermostat replacement was very easy. Just remove about 50 sheet metal screws to uncover the thermostat capillary, place the new next to the old, and move over the wires. The actual repair too about 15 minutes.
