Daniel F Miami , FL August 31, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Electric Dryer DBLR333EG6WW The back assembly holding the control knob mechanism broke and both female ends of the knobs cracked due to where and tear For the back assembly I simply removed all the knobs first and then unscrewed 3 screws which anchored the assembly to the dryer. Once the screws were removed I slid the assembly forward and then slid it to my right to undo the 3 L-shaped plastic anchors at the bottom. Once assembly was free from dryer I unlocked the small locking arm from each electrical mechanism and then quarter turned each one clock wise (on my model there were 3. Timer, settling, and start mechanisms.) to detach them from assembly. After that I brought my new assembly and attached each electrical assembly by quarter turning them counter clock wise and making sure arms locked. Then I placed assembly back onto dryer and sliding to my left this time so L-shaped plastic anchors engaged and screwed the 3 screws back onto the back of the assembly. Once I was done with that I reattached all knobs (replacing the broken knobs with new ones of course) by making sure female end of knobs were lined up with male metal prongs coming out from panel from electrical mechanisms and applied light pressure to make sure they were seated properly. Hope this helps and your repair goes well. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
