Description

This dryer drum drive belt wraps around the drum and engages the motor via the idler pulley to create tumble action for even drying. Replacing a stretched or broken belt restores proper drum rotation and consistent performance. What it does:

• Transfers motor rotation to the drum to tumble clothes
• Works with the idler pulley to maintain belt tension and grip
• Typical failure symptoms include: drum not turning, intermittent tumbling, squealing or thumping noises, or visible cracks/fraying on the belt

Install notes:

• Disconnect power; turn off gas supply for gas dryers
• Access the belt by removing the top and front panels; support the drum when removing the front bulkhead
• Note the original belt routing; install the new belt around the drum, idler, and motor pulley as designed
• Rotate the drum by hand to verify tracking and tension before reassembly; inspect idler pulley and drum rollers for wear
