Daniel G Tucson , AZ July 16, 2019 The oven wouldn't pre heat and it would shut down Well, I replaced the digital display and it still didn't heat, I call the help center and they again thought it was the fan. Well, I did some more checking and found a small piece of wood stuck in the blower fan, once I took it out and started the oven again, it works. So, it looks like I didn't need the display or the fan, and the oven is working great again. Thanks for all your help. John L Surprise , AZ March 31, 2024 Appliance: General Electric Gas Range CGS995SEL2SS Oven would shut off while pre heating(around 200 degrees/upper and lower) Replaced cooling fan and sensor. Really didn’t need sensor, but though it was a good idea while it was apart. Your supposed to take top and side panels off, but I was able to ‘finesse’ it out. Helpful Tip- GE Cafe Double Oven. Press ‘bake’ and ‘2’ together for a few seconds puts oven in Diagnostic mode. From there you can access trouble codes. I found code 350 for cooling fan. Codes will not always appear by themselves on the display, you may need to find them in Diag mode, it depends on the fault. Press ‘bake’ and ‘1’ together and you go in Service Mode. From there you can operate functions, such as the cooling fan, convection fan, etc etc. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
