Samuel E Yarmouth , ME March 12, 2018 Faulty valves dry cracked water tubing mold in water reservoir I purchased a replacement water valve assembly and a replacement water reservoir from AppliancePartsPros and researched some online videos to learn how to replace both these items, including all new water tubing. In the online process, I utilized "how-to" videos from AppliancePartsPros, too. Installing the water reservoir proved the most tricky, mostly because it was tricky feeding the tubing under the refrigerator. By comparison, installing the valve assembly and running new tubing for it was actually pretty easy. From start to finish, including clean-up, the whole process took me about 2 hours. And I was the classic first-timer, never-done-this-before do-it-yourselfer. I don't know what a repair call would have cost, by probably saved myself $100 - $200 by doing it myself. Woo hoo! Eric P Downers Grove , IL April 03, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator ZISS420DXASS No water from water dispenser but ice maker worked fine First checked if the water line was freezing by (1) warming up the water tank (behind the veggie bin) with a blow dryer and (2) unhooking the water line below the fridge to see if water was getting to the door. Still no water. By installing a new water filter, I could hear gurgling, meaning that water was getting to the filter. The water exits the filter then goes back to the water valve. So the 1st stage of the electric water valve was sending water to the filter, but the 2nd stage wasn't sending the filtered water to the door. So I replaced the electric water valve and now everything works again! Easily accessible from the front; didn't need to pull out the fridge.
