Joseph P Placerville , CA February 13, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Microwave JES1451DN1BB Ge microwave oven stopped heating food Mostly when it comes to microwaves not heating up food, your problem is the high voltage diode, capacitor, or the magnetron. I started with the diode (cheapest of the three parts). I couldn't accurately test the diode as my handheld meter didn't have enough power for the diode checker. Replaced the diode, no change. Ordered the capacitor, installed, and now she's heating up like the day I bought her. Cost of parts: $110. Cost of similar microwave oven (new): $300. Going to get another 5+ years of daily use.
