James D Wake Village , TX March 10, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Dryer GTD65EBSJ3WS The control panel went dark between loads I began by checking the thermostatic switches and measuring the resistance of the thermistors with a digital multimeter. After replacing the board, the dryer came on and I set the model and heater type according to the instructions. Since I hadn't worked on this dryer before, I disassembled it much further than was needed. The next time it goes out, it won't take me nearly as long to troubleshoot it. After some research and troubleshooting, I came to the conclusion that the control board needed to be replaced on my dryer. I found part WE22X35978 at AppliancePartsPros.com, ordered it, and received it the very next day. I installed the part in my dryer and followed the instructions to set my dryer's personality, which in my case was #3.
