Barbara S Trophy Club , TX May 12, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Electric Range JKP15BW1BB I had a bottom element that wasn't receiving power and so only the broiler would bring the oven up to temp but this would set off an error code f2 (run away heat) My entire control panel needed to be replaced... It is called a "clock" for my model. As the original part had been redesigned, I was hesitant, but thought I would give it a shot. I carefully labeled each wire with painters tape marked with pen, so I wouldn't get confused about what connection was what. I took pictures of the original connection in case I had a fail. It was DARN HARD to get some on the connections out. I had my husband pull a few (especially the plastic-sheathed ones) with a little brute strength and a needle-nosed pliers. The new diagram was easy to follow. I'd read that on the new part there would be no ground (green) wire. There WAS a grounding wire. I tested and it worked! I am now baking at 350 using both elements. I shut power off to the stove again to remove my wire labels... I thought they might get nasty or catch on fire over time. It took me longer because of the labeling, but I'm sure glad I did it. I initially had some confusion about my model number JKP15BW1BB. I didn't know I needed to take the O out of the original JKP15BOW1BB. Confusing. However, don't hesitate to do this repair. It is easy to access. You just need some peace and quiet to be accurate with the connections. I saved BEAUCOUP BUCKS. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
