Larry W Stuart , FL December 03, 2015 Appliance: Model GENERAL ELECTRIC GXSF40H My water softner would not stop regenerating the timer motor that operates the valve for regeneration and service was turned on all of the time and would not stop I replaced the control board with a new one. I followed the instructions that came with the new control board. I put the water softener into a regeneration cycle and it worked fine and it put the softener into normal service after the regeneration cycle was completed. Note that when the old board failed it caused most of the salt to be used up and the blue service light was blinking indicating a problem with the water softener.
