Description

This vent damper is a flap mechanism located in the exhaust path of an over-the-range microwave, controlling airflow when the ventilation fan is in use. It opens to allow steam, smoke, and odors to be vented outside and closes to prevent outside air from flowing back in. Replace this damper if it is stuck open or closed, rattles during fan operation, or if you notice drafts or outside air coming through the microwave vent when the fan is off.
