Description

This defrost thermostat is the temperature-sensing switch mounted on the freezer evaporator. It controls power to the defrost heater during the cycle to help prevent frost buildup and restore proper airflow and cooling performance.

• Monitors evaporator temperature and opens the heater circuit when the coil warms
• Helps stop heavy frost/ice accumulation on the evaporator and back wall
• Failure can cause poor cooling, weak airflow, or frost-covered coils
• If stuck open, may prevent the defrost heater from energizing at all

What's included: 1 defrost thermostat. Install notes:

• Disconnect power to the refrigerator before service
• Access the evaporator behind the freezer's rear panel; locate the thermostat attached to the coil/tubing
• Install the new thermostat in the same location and orientation, ensuring firm contact with the evaporator surface
• Route and secure wires as original; keep clear of the fan and moving parts
