Renae M Kettering , OH April 20, 2021 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDWT580P00SS Dishwasher wouldn't cycle properly, would hang during washes I noticed something was wrong when the dishwasher no longer remembered the last cycle performed. After it finished, it would go to a default cycle. A couple of weeks ago, my husband said it wouldn't start. Then I noticed on subsequent washes, there was a high probability that it would hang at a random part of the wash cycle. I was able to reset it though. The last time it stuck was during the pre cycle, where it drains any water and runs the disposer. It hung there all night! I tried cycling power, but it was stuck there and no combination of button pushes would work either. It sounded like the main control board was the issue. I ordered this part and the installation was super easy. Just unscrew the door, disconnect the wiring harnesses, connect the new one and then button it back up. The only thing I'm not sure about, is that my module was just free floating in the door, it's not screwed in anywhere. I have no idea if that's correct. But I just put the new one in the same place and hoped for the best. Make sure the door is closed before you turn power on, then it'll run a test/calibration cycle. After 6 minutes I reset it. Then it seemed to run another test where all the lights and 7 segment LEDs came on. Eventually they went off. I ran a wash and it completed with no problem. The cycle that just ran also popped up after it had completed, like it used to do. I also replaced the display module since a few of the led segments were out. My touch pad will probably need replacement soon, as the ribbon cable has some corrosion inside of it. Super easy installation that literally anyone who can use a screwdriver can do. Hardest part is holding the door apart. Read More... 2 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
David D Cedar Bluff , VA March 16, 2016 Dishwasher would start & shut off after a few minutes if it was on cookware cycle it would reset to normal With the info help from the Appliance Parts Pro Chat I was able to decide that it was probably the Module Control Assembly. I ordered that from APP along with the Display Module because my display numbers were not showing the full digits, I ordered that as well. The 2 parts combined were the same price as the GE site & they were Genuine GE parts. The order went out the same day & I received them 2 days later with only standard shipping. Removal and replacement of the 2 parts was straightforward. 12 minutes from start to finish. I have used APP in the past for my trash compactor & will definitely use them again. Thank you very much!
