Jeffrey W Chevy Chase , MD August 01, 2016 Dryer door switch on ge spacesaver washer/dryer broke The hardest part of the repair was figuring out how to access the switch in the door. I found a YouTube video that showed how to open the control panel and do the repair. The panel opens by using pliers and pulling down on two spring-loaded pins on the underside of the panel. Each pin is part of a locking system on either side of the control panel. After the pin release mechanism is opened, the control panel rotates down on a hinge. Then, it's easy to remove the old switch and do the replacement. To close the panel, the spring-loaded pins have to be pulled down, the panel closed, then the pin released to lock it.
