Richard G San Antonio , FL July 15, 2020 Appliance: Bosch GE010-010 Element on smooth top range burned out Replaced element. You probably only need a 1/4" socket, a pair of needle nose pliers and a couple of regular flat blade screwdrivers. If you have the spring steel clips that hold the element against the back of the smooth top, it seems needle nose pliers are the tool to use. Search on Youtube for a video that shows a guy using them. The clips have a "tooth" that digs into the aluminum element cover. Difficult to spring the clip open enough to release the clip but you're going to trash the old element anyway, so just be careful. They go back on much easier. Remember to note the numbers on the case and put the element back in exactly as it was. Remember to shut of the breaker or unplug the stove first.
