Linda S Rockwall , TX June 06, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave JVM1851BF001 Door handle to microwave was cracked Ordered new handle from website which was very easy. Clicked on the video showing how to open the panel to access the screws that secure the handle. Opened panel with a kitchen knife and proceeded to unscrew the handle. That was the most difficult part; however, we got it. Replaced the old handle with the new and that was it--simply pushed the panel back into place. More simple than we thought it would be. We would've never figured out how to access the screws holding the handle had we not clicked on the video. I'm sure we saved a ton of money by doing it ourselves. Robert R Kingman , AZ January 16, 2017 Appliance: Model GE JVM1860BD001 Broken handle Not too scary once you orient yourself to the disassembly of the door. Carefully pry off the inner plastic fascia with a putty knife. This will allow access to the first two screws. Then pry the front half of the door forward a bit to gain access to the two "hidden" screws. Carol M Riverview , FL July 19, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave JVM1851BD001 Cracked microwave handle Followed the instructions in the on line video, removed the inner panels to get at the two sets of screws and reattached the handle. The person I ordered the part from was super friendly and helpful. She found the right handle for me and emailed a manual for the unit. She went beyond what I expected. The on line video was all we needed. We have a model that required removing two sets of screws, not just the one. The manual didn't help as much as seeing the tech use putty knives to carefully remove the inner door panels without damage. Saved us a bunch of money (even though the handle was expensive). We were told by friends we were going to have to replace the entire door. Not so. Thanks!
