Robert D Oceanside , CA January 03, 2017 Appliance: General Electric Electric Range JBP30WB1WW Ge electric oven door hinge & door handle broke REPLACE door hinges and door handle (about 30 minutes) 1. Open the door to the first catch. 2. Lift the latch keepers (stoppers) on the hinge. 3. Lift / pull the door away from the oven. 4. set on a flat surface with inside of door up. 5. Remove three screws on the bottom of the door. 6. Remove two screws on the inside towards of the top of the door (gold in color). These are long wood type screws. 7. carefully lift the inner door from the outer door. (NOTE: there are two metal pieces that the screw goes through that work as a standoff). 8. Remove handle end caps by removing two screws on each side with a 1/4" nutdriver. 9. Align end cap pins and holes and reattach the new end caps. 10. Remove three screws from each hinge (T-15 torx). Repeat for other side. 11. replace hinges and tighten screws. 12. Place the inner door on the outer door (Hint: place two gold screws through holes and use them to align the metal standoff parts as you reassemble.) 13. Tighten the two gold screws and reinsert the three bottom screws. 14. The door hinges and handle have been replaced. TO REPLACE the Hinge receptacles.. (about 1 hour) 1. This is much more time consuming then the hinges. 2. pull the stove out and unplug from wall. 3. remove three screws from the each side (back) of the oven (1/4" nut driver) 4. Lift the stove top and brace up using latches. 5. Remove three screws along each top edge (1 phillips and 2 nuts style, the third is in the way back and you need a 1/4" ratchet and lift the top way up). 6. Remove bottom drawer. 7. There is one screw at the bottom front on each side, reach through one of the holes and remove. 8. Pull the top of the side panel slightly away from the stove and lift to release two interlocking plastic latches at the front of the stove. 8. With the side removed, remove four screws (1/4" nut driver) holding the insulation panel to the side of the oven box. Use caution as NOT to full remove cover. 9. Side insulation cove carefully towards the back of the stove just far enough to allow the hinge receptacle to be removed. 10. Remove two screws from the front of the hinge receptacle (T-15 torx) and carefully lift and slide out. 11. Replace the receptacle and ensure it slides down to hold in place. Replace the screws. Replace the insulation side cover. 12. replace the stove side cover and replace all screws. 13. Repeat for the other side. 14. Once everything is reassembled, plug the stove back in and slide back into place. Good luck.. and I wish I had these instructions when I did this. Rick N Port Washington , WI May 26, 2019 Appliance: Model JBP82TOF1WW The oven door was hard to open and the door would not close tight I replaced the door hinge and hinge receiver on both sides of the door. Removing the door was difficult because the hinges were worn down so much but once I got it off the repair went really well. Read More... Ordered parts, arrived second day after order; as stated. Installed parts and oven door now closes properly. Hinge door was probably worn out with weak spring and receiver was also slightly worn.
