Michael F Harrisburg , PA May 10, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave JVM1851BF001 The microwave was making a loud grinding noise, like it was a coffee grinder. Found a replacement stirrer motor from Appliance Parts Pros.com.The motor arrived in less than a week. I removed the old noisy motor and installed the new one. Placed a glass of water in the unit to test, and the new motor made it sound like brand new. The actual repair was quite simple. You just remove the grill on the top ,front of the unit. Take out the charcoal filter, remove the cover just under the filter( a single screw on the front is all that holds it in place. Unplugged the power connector, on the front of the motor. Using a 1/4” ratchet , a 1/4” socket and a Phillips bit, (which was needed due to the height restriction) removed the two retaining screws. Pulled the old motor out and slid the new one in. Did the rest in reverse order of removal.
