Description

This dryer idler arm assembly keeps the drive belt tight and aligned so the drum turns smoothly. A worn or seized idler can cause squealing, belt slippage, or a drum that won't tumble.

• Applies tension to the drive belt and guides it around the motor pulley
• Maintains proper belt alignment for consistent drum rotation
• Common symptoms of failure: squealing/squeaking, belt coming off or wearing quickly, drum not turning, or burning rubber odor

• Disconnect power; if gas, also shut off gas supply before servicing
• Remove top/front panels as needed, release belt tension, and note belt routing
• Remove the old idler from its mount; transfer spring from the original if required by your model, then install the new assembly and re-route the belt
• Rotate drum by hand to verify belt tracking before reassembly and test run
