Description

This glow-bar oven igniter lights the gas burner. When energized, it heats and draws current through the safety valve so the bake or broil flame ignites reliably and the oven reaches the set temperature. What it does:

• Heats and ignites the oven's bake or broil burner
• Draws the correct current to open the gas safety valve
• Can address no-heat or no-ignition conditions
• Helps resolve very slow preheat or inconsistent oven temperatures
• Useful when the igniter glows but the burner never lights

Install notes:

• Disconnect power and shut off gas supply before servicing
• Access from the oven cavity; remove racks, oven bottom, and flame spreader as needed
• Handle the igniter carefully—element is fragile; avoid touching the carbide/ceramic tip
• Secure connections and route wires away from flames and high-heat areas; test operation after reassembly

Tech tip: A weak glow-bar can still glow orange yet fail to open the gas valve. If the burner doesn't light or preheat is very slow, a worn igniter is a common cause.
