Kurt D Littleton , CO January 05, 2015 Ge dishwasher would not fully drain at the end of the wash cycle After looking at a You Tube video I was able to diagnose the problem which was a bad piston and nut assembly. I contacted Appliance Parts Pros found the right parts and they arrived at the house within 4 days. The repair was very simple. I just unscrewed the filter screen at the lower back of the DW and then unscrewed the piston nut assembly. I install the new part in the reverse order and was complete within 30min. Problem solved. I cleaned all that and it was not the cause. Saw this video...took off the filter frame and the piston & nut assembly was definitely broke (cap deteriorated to nothing). Need pliers to break it free as in the video. I accidentally ripped the screen taking off the filter frame, and saw a hole from the heating rod on top of the inlet cover so I replaced them too. Very easy replacement project once it was diagnosed. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers
