• Disconnect power to the washer before servicing
• Pull the old knob straight off the shaft; if tight, gently pry while supporting the panel
• If a spring clip or insert is present on the old knob, transfer it to the new knob
• Align the flat/D-shaped hub with the shaft and press firmly until fully seated; verify pointer alignment
