Oven door wouldn't close tightly new hinges didn't fix the problem All of the information on the web repair sites said "replace the hinges as the springs are worn out." Didn't fix the problem. The top of the door still wouldn't seal, and the. Leaning latch wouldn't catch the door unless you pressed on the door. The inside panel of the door was fatigued. Too many turkeys were set on the door over the years. The hinges are attached to that inside panel, so the stress points were bent over time. I replaced the inside steel panel. Took about an hour. Was able to clean both sides of the three glass panels as well. An extra bonus. Door closes tight and locks without a nudge from the operator.
