Kevin W Rochester , MA January 20, 2016 $1000 dishwasher didn't clean dishes Our GE was installed about 8 years ago and was AWESOME for much of its early life. However, progressively its cleaning ability diminished. By replacing all the spray arms (clogged with debris), filters, drain hose, and sump...this dishwasher cleans like it did when it was new! Cost was around $100 (also replaced a wheel and the silverware basket) and labor was relatively simple. And to think...my mother-in-law said, "Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new one?!?". Margaret O University Heights , OH November 08, 2014 Dishes were not getting clean; i noticed that the middle spray arm was not working; but also other spray arms appeared to have residue in the irrigation holes I did an internet search - found your site explaining how to fix. I purchased the upper, middle, and lower spray arms - It took about 15 minutes total. Very very easy. No more dirty dishes! Brian K P Port Deposit , MD December 23, 2018 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher PDW8400J10BB Spray arms kept clogging dishes not getting clean After some investigation, I found that the sump inlet tube for the fine particle screen had deteriorated, and in addition, the sump was coated in a white chalk like substance that kept breaking off and clogging the spray arms. I had used tweezers to try and clean the holes in the spray arms, but it would only last for maybe 2 washes. I ordered a new sump and middle and lower spray arms, and watched the video on how to replace the sump. Not too difficult if you have a small amount of mechanical ability. After the new parts were installed, dishwasher works like new. Most likely saved hundreds in repair fees. Read More...
