Alan B Marietta , GA March 12, 2014 Dishwasher electronic panel buttons went haywire after power surge and would not reset. Pushing one button would light up others and some didn't respond at all. Found similar stories online for our make of dishwasher and all things pointed to replacing the module control assembly. Found the part using AppliancePartsPros.com's appliance and parts browser. It also confirmed compatibility of the part with my specific dishwasher model. First, turned off power to dishwasher at the electric panel for the house. Unscrewed the dozen screws in along the door frame holding in place the front panel and the outer skin. Took a picture of the Module Control Assembly (MCA) and the location of the ribbon cable, wire cables, as well as to note the jumper settings on the circuit board (none in my case). Disconnected cables from the MCA, unscrewed the 1 securing screw and removed the faulty board. Slid the new MCA into place, screwed the securing screw, and reconnected the cables. Screwed back in the remaining screws for the front panel and outer door skin. Turned power back on, and per a label on the MCA, sure enough, the dishwasher went into a diagnostic calibration mode that lasted about 6 minutes and per the instructions pressed the reset which emptied the dishwasher. Found I needed to turned off power once more to do a final reset and turned it back on. All is working as expected now.
