John W Atlanta , GA March 24, 2017 Appliance: General Electric Gas Range JGP970TEK1WW Wife broke the glass cook top Ordered new glass cook top for GE profile 36" range top. Broke two screws off removing one of the burners. Tried drilling broken 6-32 screws out of cast aluminum gas manifold and broke the tap off inside it so I had to order a new $28 manifold. Total cost with $303 for the glass was $331 Replacement range would have been over $1200. I also replaced all (10) 6-32x1" torx screws with stainless steel versions from McMaster-Carr and installed with Permatex anti seize in case I ever had to open it up again.
