Victor S West Sacramento , CA August 31, 2014 Appliance: Model JTP56S0D1SS F0 error on ge oven There are a lot of suggestions online to try and buy yourself time with this error. I tried the index card between the ribbon cable and the pencil eraser I clean the ribbon cable contacts, but the error came back. I disconnected the ribbon cable from the ERC and still got the error, so I knew it was the ERC I needed to deal with. I talked to a local appliance parts store and they recommended sending it to an online service for repair. When I was able to reach someone at the online service, they explained they would most likely not be able to fix it and recommended replacing it. They even looked up websites where it was available to order. I ordered from Appliance Parts Pros on an expediated delivery and got it sooner than promised. It's easy to remove the old part, there are three hex screws to remove the control and four Philips screws to remove the ERC. I suggest drawing a wiring diagram and taking photos to help remember where all the wires go. They are color coded, but some of the colors are similar and it helps to have the reminder. Replace the ERC, reconnect it and you're done. It's been 3 days and so far so good.
