Kirby L Land O Lakes , FL March 07, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Electric Range JBP66WH1WW Light socket fault and shorted out control board I researched on Appliancepartspros.com how to fix a control board. I came across some online videos showing exactly how easy the process really was. I also typed in the model number on the site and was able to pull up the parts diagrams to figure out which other part numbers I needed. I ordered the control board, light socket, light gasket, and light bulb. I was shocked to know that the control board came in the next day! The other parts arrived the following day as well, which definitely exceeded my expectations. From start to finish the project took me about 30 minutes, and I was taking my time. Everything went in smoothly and the face plate on the control board removed easily with using a hair dryer. Plugged the unit back in and it WORKED! Couldn't be happier with the level of service and fast shipping times at appliancepartspros.com. I will definitely use them again and will refer them to others!!! Roberto T Wading River , NY March 07, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Electric Range JB988TK3WW Ooven light cup damaged the indent for light cover retainer broke during removal to replace burt bulb Replaced with new part. Step one is to unplug oven from power (or turn off power from breaker box). When doing this job you mast also replace the oven light gasket. It prudent but not necessary to replace the screws. Getting the light cover retainer and lamp cover assembly was only precautionary and not needed for repair. When taking off old oven light cup, particular care needs to be used in disconnecting power terminals as they are easy to snap, if this occurs there is very little room to replace terminal and may require more extensive repair work. Under optimal conditions this is a 5 min job. Removing the oven door makes the job easier but is not necessary. Read More...
