Richard R Eastampton , NJ January 17, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator TFX24RLL Rusting of the dispensoer plate and auger Replacement of plate and auger was straightforward. Replacement parts fit exactly. Took about 1 hr to do the repair, actually about 1.5 hrs when you consider we thoroughly washed all the parts, new and old. Words of wisdom: 1)Take lots of pictures. The ice chopping blades and washers are many separate pieces and need to go back in the same order and orientation. The plate has many holes for screws for the cover and the orientation is important.Note which holes are used. 2) The bar that comes with the auger is marked "UP" due to the slight bend in the bar. This assumes you are assembling the auger with the auger standing up. 3) Use pliers with a light grip to unscrew item 326, auger front nut. All the nylon washers/bushings used for the crusher blades were in good shape after 26 years and did NOT need to be replaced. If I had to do it again, I would have also ordered items 329, ice dispenser rod, which was also rusted but does not contact the ice. The rod must be totally removed to replace the auger and/or plate. Don W Fulshear , TX February 03, 2018 Dripping ice maker rusty parts and poorly operating dispenser I fixed the drip with a bit of silicone. I fixed the rusty parts Auger & End Plate by replacing them. I repaired the dispenser by replacing the defective door. I used the various videos connected with the parts ( including related parts that I did not replace but required removing them first) to learn and confirm how to properly remove and replace the parts. These were incredibly valuable, Thank You! Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
