Ge WB18X27449 Microwave Power Cord Assembly OEM Part

Took out the microwave and removed the outer shell and front control panel. Then I took out the housing that holds all three switches. I confirmed that the monitor switch was bad by using a voltimeter. The switch should not have continuity when the door is closed (button depressed), but my bad switch had continuity both closed and open. Opening the switch I could see that the contacts had welded themselves together. Unfortunately, when I didn't know what was wrong I also melted the plug by plugging the unplugged microwave into the wall. I also had to replace the power cord assembly. (I had to replace the outlet as well). Just be careful to pay attention to where all the screws go and take lots of pictures of how the wires are oriented so it can be properly reassembled. And be careful to not break the plastic tab that holds the monitor switch in place. Also, on my model there were 4 #15 torx screws on the back of the microwave that required the torx attachment with the hollow hole in the middle.
