Chris O La Verne , CA November 15, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave ZSC1000KBB01 Display filckering on GE Monogram zsc1000kbb01 First I replaced the flickering digitron after reading elsewhere that it may be just a weak display. The new digit on was still flickering but a little differently. Our oven was still working with either display until suddenly it wasn't one morning. After finding AppliancePartsPros and reading that others had to go further by replacing the transformer and power boards, that's when I looked closer at those parts. There was some smoke evidence on the cover over the transformer and the back of two PCBs didn't look as good as the rest. I ended up replacing the Power Board (WB27X10861 / AP3882298), Sub Asm Power Board (WB27X10858 / AP3883396), and the Transformer (WB17X10021 / AP3883205). My old digitron/display may have still been good but I stuck with the new one. I didn't do any actual testing of the old parts, but the visual evidence was enough. As mentioned elsewhere, this is a very DIY job with patience and basic tools. The trickiest part was routing wires. My old power board had lower profile connectors that layed flat on it. The new board's harness connections are perpendicular to the board, but with some careful wire routing, everything still fits fine. Everything works as it should now. The total of almost $600 in parts was pricey but still altogether way cheaper than a new high-end microwave/convection oven for $2400. The very fast shipping helped take some of the sting out of the cost too. I ordered on a Thursday and the parts arrived Saturday. I'm glad I found AppliancePartsPros.com. Thomas M Kapolei , HI December 23, 2022 Appliance: Model SCB1001MSS01 Digital readout panel flickered and turned off completely. As an FIY, I experienced this problem about 5 years ago and replaced the Digitron (AP3883432) which solved the problem then. This time, I thought since the same symptoms (flickering of the readout and panel shutting down from time to time) that the same part had to be replaced. I ordered and replaced that part but only got a slight improvement in that the panel flickered a little less and shut down less but still had the problems occur. I will say that the readout is much brighter than before so it probably would have had to be changed out eventually anyway. I read through the reviews and noted a response from someone describing similar issues but did some checks and found that the Transformer Power and Power Board needed to be replaced. He mentioned a couple other parts but didn't say why he had changed them out so I elected not to spend the extra $200 on parts I may not need. While I waited for the parts to arrive (took about 10 days to get to Hawaii) I studied the schematics provided on the site and noted that it wasn't going to be too much more work to replace than the digitron. All I needed was a couple of phillips screwdrivers, one short and one long nose. Would recommend the long nose one to be magnetic to help remove and install 2 screws you need to get to through a hole on the top where you have no way to use fingers to help secure. A small flathead screwdriver also helps in prying some of the wiring connectors. First and most important thing to remember which I did was to switch off the breaker switch and make sure no electrical power is going into the oven. I'm not an electrician so I took lots of before shots on my cell phone of the wiring before I disconnected. That way when I put them back, I knew I got them hooked up right. Also, I made sure to secure all the little screws in a plastic bag when I removed them. It's easy to lose them if they fall between the walls of the panels. There will be 9 screws (or maybe 11 can't remember) to remove the front/top readout panel. Once removed, only need to remove the wiring from the connectors. Before I did, I took lots of photos and then carefully removed each one by hand. Might need to use that small flathead screwdriver to help lift some of the wires from the connectors. Once I got the wires removed, I was able to take the panel to my workbench and replace each of the components. Each one required the removal/reinstallation of 4 screws with no problem. Once again, I did take photos before I removed each component and referred back to check I had the connections right once I had it back together. I reversed the entire process for reinstallation. Just made sure that I used that magnetic Philipps screwdriver to reinstall 2 screws on the top. There is no other way you will be able to get those in without it. I know this because I lost 4 screws trying to do it the first time without it. They are somewhere deep down between the panels in a place I'm not ever going. Once everything was together, I turned the breaker switch back on and "presto" "SUCCESS" Just like a brand-new oven. Everything works just fine with no flickering or shut down. This was a fairly easy repair. The key is to be patient and methodical. Don't try to rush or force anything. Keep your screws and tools organized and this should be a breeze for even a newbee. Josh S Coeur D Alene , ID October 31, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave SCB1001KSS01 GE oven / mw scb1001kss01 on screen display was intermittent. Symptoms: on screen display intermittent and sometimes not readable, oven would lock up every few days and not be usable until breaker was reset First I just ordered the Digitron (Part #WB27X10856) and that helped for a few weeks but then the oven/mw started locking up and the only way to get it to work was reset the breaker. Ordered both of these Pwb(pcb)Asm Sub (Part #WB27X10858) and (Part #WB27X10861) and that fixed the problem entirely. Installation was relatively easy - phillips screwdriver was all I needed. Took about 20-25 minutes. Most tedious part was threading the wiring harness back in which was still fairly quick. Take your time and anyone can get the installation done. David J Dayton , TX July 26, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave SCB1001KSS01 The display was messed up with little sparkles. Then the display would disappear. Resetting the breaker would bring it back. Not anymore. After reading several posts on this sight I found the description that most matched my problem. I ordered the parts recommended and replaced them. I prayed first because it looked a little overwhelming but I do believe the Lord heard my prayers and the parts replacement went well. I plugged her in and reset the breaker and it worked like a charm. When I reset the clock the time was 3:16 ( as in John 3:16, I believe that was the Lord letting me know He heard me and helped me. Art P Centennial , CO January 03, 2023 Appliance: General Electric Microwave SCB1001MSS001 Flickering display. I purchased this microwave Model#: SCB1001MSS in 2008. It has always worked perfectly until about a year ago. The display started flickering and then would not work at all until I turned off the breaker and then back on again. This started happening more and more often until I just figured I would need to buy a new microwave oven. When I did a search of the problem I was having along with the model # of my microwave, It took me to AppliancePartsPros.com I found out that many other people had the same problem I was having. I am thankful that many people wrote about the parts they needed to fix their problems. Here are the parts I ordered that fixed the problem I had. Power Board WB27X10861 / AP3882298 Pwb (pcb) Asm Sub WB27X10858 / AP3883396 Transformer Power WB17X10021 / AP3883205 I hope this will be of help to others also! The hardest part was lifting the 75 pound microwave out of the built in cabinet it was in. (I had to have a neighbour help me with that).
