Robert J Hemet , CA January 16, 2015 Appliance: Model KENMORE Fridge kenmore got warm 20 yr old model I WAS SHOPPING FOR A NEW ONE WHEN MY NEIGHBOR TOLD ME THEY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM 4 YRS AGO. HIS BROTHER WAS A REPAIR PERSON AND HE MENTIONED TO REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR RELAY ATTACHED TO THE SIDE OF THE COMPRESSOR. IT WAS VERY EASY TO DO. WENT TO A LOCAL SHOP THEY WANTED 35 FOR THE PART AND ALSO TRIED TO SELL ME ANOTHER FIX WITH A DIFFERENT RELAY SYSTEM FOR 39.99. I WENT ONLINE FIRST TO FIND THE BEST DEAL AND YOU HAD IT. ORDERED IT THURSDAY AND IT CAME FEDEX TUESDAY NIGHT. PUT IT IN - GOT EVERYTHING CLEANED UP AND IT STARTED WORKING! THEN IT SHUT OFF SO I CALLED A LOCAL SHOP AND THEY SAID IT PROBABLY WENT IN TO DEFROST MODE. WAIT AN HOUR. SO I WENT AWAY FOR 3 HRS CAME BACK SAID WELL HERE WE GO AT THE DOOR AND FOUND A WONDERFULLY COLD FRIDGE AND FROZEN ICE CUBES FOR MY FIRST COOL GLASS OF WINE THAT EVENING! $26 WELL SPENT AND ITS WORKING BETTER THAN EVER. LOOKING BACK I NOTICED OVER THE PAST COUPLE YEARS THINGS THAWING OUT OCCASIONALLY AND THE FRIDGE WORKING HARDER THAN USUAL AT TIMES. ALSO A PUDDLE OF WATER OCCASIONALLY I PUT A DISH IN TO CATCH. IF YOUR S IS ACTING UP THIS WAY IT MAY PAY TO REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR RELAY NOW BEFORE IR HAPPENS WHEN YOUR AWAY OR AT A BAD TIME. THANKS.
