David R Germantown , MD February 24, 2017 Appliance: General Electric Dishwasher GSD5620D00BB Dishes not cleaning or drying well large amount of soap buildup drain intermittently not working Spent a long time cleaning out accumulated soap buildup. Replaced 'Piston Nut' valve. Problem continued. Found a leak from the solenoid actuated drain flap in pump assembly. Solenoid was corroded due to leak. Decided to replace entire pump unit due to age and accumulated build up in all parts. Replacement was easy after pulling dishwasher out and turning upside down. Also replaced flapper valve, and lower spray arm assembly. Dishwasher is now running great with no problems. Read More...
