Robert L Cary , NC May 24, 2019 Appliance: General Electric Electric Dryer DPVH890EJ0MG Drum would not rotate intermittently. The Dryer is 10 years old GE Front Load DPVH890JEMG. The drum would intermittently not rotate at the beginning of a cycle and occasionally would rotate but then start and stop throughout the cycle. I did not check error codes, but the windings on the motor were black. So it seemed reasonable that the motor was overheating and sending a signal to the control board to stop. There is one screw under the knob and 9 screws on the front to get inside. I decided to replace the bearings, capacitor, belt and slides while I was in there because they were 10 years old and relatively cheap. Everything snapped in pretty easily and now it works. I was really hoping that it wasn't the control board and so far it seems that it wasn't.
