Paul S Albany , OH November 26, 2016 Appliance: Model GSS201EPCWW Evaporator fan making noise/changing speed; freezer light socket bad Had some confusion of what part I needed, needed the one with the motor and thermostat. Fortunately, I've been fixing wiring for many years, I simply cut the new motor out of the harness, and used that nice glue-inside-heat-shrink tubing to seal the soldered 'Western Union' style splices. New light socket and lamps fit fine, worked fine, new motor is fine, problem resolved. FYI: Look closely at the wiring in you unit, there are two wire harnesses, one feeds the light, the other feeds the motor and thermostat. The web page adds to the confusion, by offering one with all three items (motor, light wires, and thermostat) but they don't actually have one like that. - Go with the pictures, What's in the picture is what you'll get. Also use Google images to confirm your part# is what you have/need. Read More... 5 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers

James B Santa Fe , NM August 07, 2018 6 year old Hotpoint 'frig had a grumbling freezer fan tenants threw away dishwasher parts Go to your excellent website, click on schematic photos and order. The hardest part is taking a good photo of your appliance model's Serial # and ID plate. Tenants threw away dishwasher parts, then claimed "...dishwasher was faulty." Bottom fridge fan was okay, but I replaced that as well. I unplugged frig from power supply (duplex). I redid all electrical connections employing PermaTex Dielectric grease. Keeps out moisture as well as making job easier for next tradesmen. I dumped all ice maker ice and began a new batch. Entire job, two appliances was under 30 minutes. I used my Ryobi 18v battery drill to remove various screws. It pays to keep solid appliances running. Amazing to get the parts delivered so fast! Thanks again! Read More...
