Description

• Regulates on/off cycling of the surface element to set and maintain heat level
• Failure can cause the burner to only heat on high, not heat at all, or not turn off
• Worn shaft or contacts can make the knob feel loose or hard to turn

• Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance; let the cooktop cool completely
• Pull off the control knob and remove the panel/console to access the switch
• Note terminal markings and transfer wires one at a time to the new switch (take a photo for reference)
• Mount the switch, reassemble the panel and knob, restore power, and test the element
