Patricia L Kathleen , GA June 11, 2016 Blown element on a downdraft cooktop (literally the eye virtually exploded sparks flying everywhere and the knob blew off) After some research, assumed the infinite switch was likely shot (wasn't sure what else). Watched the video on appliancepartspro.com. Called to order part and get an opinion on the problem. The lady who helped me was very nice and agreed to start with the infinite switch. Well, the part arrived in two days. My husband removed the knobs and cover plate and we took off the old switch and attached the new one. It only took a few minutes to change out the switch. We took the opportunity to clean everything real good so the whole thing took a little longer. Turned the power back on, turned the eye on and voila, we were in business. Read More...
