Description

This rotary switch sits behind the control knob and lets you select dryer cycles. Replacing a worn switch restores accurate cycle selection when the knob turns but the dryer doesn't respond or only some settings work. What it does:

• Converts knob movement into specific switch contacts for each cycle position
• Sends the selected setting to the timer or electronic control
• Helps ensure the correct cycle is engaged when the knob is turned
• Failure signs include no response when turning the selector, only some cycles working, or an intermittent/loose selector feel

Install notes:

• Disconnect power; if gas, also shut off the gas supply before servicing
• Remove the control knob and open the control panel to access the switch
• Note wire positions (take a photo), then transfer wires one at a time to the new switch and secure it in place
• Reassemble the panel, reinstall the knob, and test all selector positions
