Description

This thermal cutoff (runaway) is a temperature-safety device that stops the dryer's heating circuit if temperatures exceed safe limits, helping prevent overheating and potential fire hazards. Replaces a failed or tripped runaway TCO in dryer heating assemblies. What it does:

• Opens the heating circuit if the dryer temperature climbs above safe thresholds to stop further heating.
• Prevents uncontrolled heating when other thermostats or controls fail.
• Common symptom: dryer overheats or element stays energized; may also result in no heat if the cutoff is open.
• Works with the dryer's existing thermostats and heating element assembly as a safety interlock.
