Description

This defrost thermostat monitors evaporator temperature and controls power to the defrost heater, helping prevent frost buildup and overheating. Replacing a failed thermostat restores proper automatic defrosting and more consistent refrigerator temperatures. What it does:

• Monitors evaporator-coil temperature to control the defrost heater circuit
• Terminates the defrost cycle when the coil warms to a safe temperature
• Failure can cause heavy frost behind the freezer panel and poor cooling
• May lead to longer-than-normal run times or a heater that won't energize

Install notes:
