Description

This dishwasher thermostat is a temperature-limiting safety switch that prevents overheating and allows proper heater operation during wash and dry. When it fails, the heater may be disabled, leaving dishes wet and cycles extended. What it does:

• Monitors dishwasher temperature and opens the circuit if overheating is detected
• Allows power to the heating element when conditions are within safe limits
• Supports achieving proper wash/rinse temperatures and drying performance
• Common symptoms of a failed thermostat: no heat or dry, sanitize option not completing, cycle taking longer than normal

Install notes:

• Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing; shut off water if moving the unit
• Remove the toe-kick/kickplate to access the thermostat at the base of the dishwasher
• Transfer wires to the new thermostat one at a time and secure the mount firmly
• Restore power and run a heated cycle to normal heater operation
