Frank G Hawthorne , CA November 18, 2014 Appliance: Model WR50X10085 I bought my ge deep freezer (the 7 cubic size) some 18 months ago and for the past 3 months it stopped recovering from hibernation For three months, I would bang hard on the switch for the freezer to comes back on from hibernation. After three days of helplessly jump-starting this thing, I concluded that I need to change the thermostat. Then I called GE for troubleshooting, when the technician showed, he spent ten minutes and said it was the thermostat. I paid him $99 for the troubleshooting and he gave me the part number and a couple of phone contacts to order the part. Though he asked if I would like him to fix it for $254.00 and I refused. Anyway, the part cost less than $40.00 online and it took me less than 15 minutes to install it. The deep freezer is now working just fine.
