David L Houston , TX July 18, 2014 The small electric motor on the bottom had burned out it's what makes the insides rotate around The fix was easy, it was the taking the microwave oven out of the wall that was hard. These things are pretty Heavy. Lucky I had help. Once removed from the wall, which was only 4 screws holding the facing on the wall. Then about another 4 screws holding the oven in place. Then pulling it out of the wall (don't forget to unplug it) (most are not hard wired but simply plugged into a outlet behind it.) Then lay it on it's backside (be sure to remove the glass plate that your food sits on and rotates around plus the little wheels that turn it) laying on it's back you expose the bottom of the oven. There is a small door takes usually one or two screws to get it open (oh, in my case they had built a frame of sorts to attach the oven to the wall) so I had to remove 4 screws (2 on each side) to get to the bottom of the oven. Now after the small door is off there is the motor. Mine was held by 2 screws and had a clip type thing to attach the power to the motor. That's just a pull off. As I already said you have to unplug the oven, but for safetyboot sake let me say again, before you remove the small door screws make sure the oven is unplugged. After you have installed the new motor simply put everything back where it came from and you can plug it in now and test before you install back in the wall. After testing complete put the oven back in the wall and reattach the facing plate, put back the turntable (glass) and the wheels it rotates on first. Then you are the instant hero of the family and saved about 3-400.00 dollars by not buying a new one. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
