Description

The Generac air filter element is used to clean the air that enters the carburetor of the generator. This is a two-part filter with a pre-cleaner and a cleaner. The dual filter provides added cleaning before the air gets to the carburetor.Dirt and debris obstructs the flow of air and limits how much air makes it to the carburetor. If the carburetor does not receive proper airflow, this can result in reduced performance and more gas use. Visual inspection, as well as scheduled maintenance, is important in keeping the generator running efficiently. If a visual inspection shows that the filter is clogged, it should be removed and replaced, regardless of the maintenance schedule. Remove the air filter cover by loosening the knob that holds it in place. Remove and dispose of the air filter. Place the new air filter inside and replace the cover. If the air filter is not visibly dirty, check the maintenance schedule and replace the filter if it is time according to the schedule.
