Description

This exhaust gasket is an authentic OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer specifically for use on Generac generators. The exhaust gasket seals the connection between the exhaust manifold and the side of the engine. The gasket prevents exhaust gasses from leaking out and prevents contaminants from coming into the exhaust system. If the generator's engine starts sounding very loud, loses power, has a burning smell, or loses fuel efficiency, the exhaust gasket could be worn and need to be replaced. All gaskets should be inspected on a regular basis to maintain the life of the generator.Allow the generator to cool before working on it. Wear safety gloves and remove the spark plug for safety. Use a screwdriver and remove the muffler housing. Next, remove the muffler and exhaust pipe. Pull the exhaust gasket off and install the new gasket. Reassemble the generator using reverse steps.
