Description

This is a recoil starter that is designed to be compatible with generators manufactured by Generac. The recoil starter is responsible for spinning the flywheel and the crankshaft quickly enough to start the motor on the generator. After the starter is engaged, the machine can be cranked by hand to get all of the operating systems running. If there is a problem with the recoil starter, it may cause oil leaks, smoke, grinding noises, or a generator that refuses to start. If this happens, the starter will need to be replaced.Make sure the generator is turned off and unplugged before replacing the recoil starter. Take off the housing cap and untie the rope before replacing any parts that have gone bad. Once that is complete, re-tension the spring and attach the cap to the generator. Next, reinstall the rope so the new recoil starter can be used. Coil the cord and turn the power back on before use.This recoil starter is made to be used with a variety of Generac generators.
