Description

This plastic body fuel shutoff valve is a genuine OEM replacement part for portable Generac generators. It is an inline fuel valve that is responsible for controlling the flow of gas from the tank to the engine. It is also responsible for stopping fuel from reaching the engine if the generator is not in use. If the fuel shutoff valve is damaged due to normal wear and tear or leaking when not in use, it should be removed and replaced.Repairs involving fuel should be made in an area with adequate ventilation. All fuel should be drained from the fuel tank and fuel lines before removing the valve. Pliers, a screwdriver, gloves, and a basin or tub to drain the fuel are necessary for making the repair. Locate the clamps holding the fuel line on each side and use pliers to release them. Remove the old valve and insert new valve. Replace the fuel lines and reclamp.
