Description

This O-ring is used with Echo and Shindaiwa small gasoline powered engines. These engines are used to power a number of yard and landscaping tools, including grass trimmers, edgers, blowers, power vacuums, pole saws, and chippers. The O-ring forms a seal between the carburetor and the cylinder so that no outside air gets into the cylinder. While the O-ring is made of a durable form of rubber, the constant heating and cooling of the manifold, plus the pressure generated in the combustion chamber eventually wear on the ring. A rough running engine may be a sign of a damaged O-ring. If the air filter is clean and the gasoline is new, it's a good bet that the O-ring is no longer forming a perfect seal and must be replaced. The O-ring sits behind the carburetor against the cylinder manifold. In order to replace it, the user must remove the air filter cover and filter, as well as the carburetor. Because this repair is somewhat involved, the user may decide to replace carburetor gaskets and the air filter and pre filter at the same time. Remember to use a replacement ring like this one, that is OEM certified to be identical to the factory original.
