Description

This is a recoil spring that makes up part of the recoil starter mechanism in many types of lawn and garden equipment. It is a high-quality spring made of metal that builds the right amount of torsion to allow rewinding of the starter rope after a user pulls on it. Through use and over time, the recoil spring can start to loosen or become weak. If it isn't replaced, it can warp, break, or crack.If the recoil spring needs to be replaced, first turn off the equipment and disconnect the spark plug wire. The retaining wing nut should be loosened to take the rope out. Unscrew the engine shroud and get access to the recoil assembly.
